Graeme Knight had built a strong track record at Panda Recycling, but he was looking for a different kind of environment, a business with a more independent, locally-rooted feel where he could take on broader leadership and help shape long-term growth rather than operate within a larger group structure.
Around the same time, SB Resourcing had been working closely with Neil Mackey, Managing Director of Kenny Waste Management, on a different challenge: building the case for a senior leadership hire that the wider group's board would get behind. Kenny Waste, a North West-based trade waste organisation, had ambitious plans to grow its trade waste arm, and Steph had spent several meetings with Neil mapping the market, looking for someone with the breadth to oversee operations, recycling, compliance and sales, not just a sales-focused appointment, and with the experience to lead larger teams across that remit.
Graeme's profile was a strong match, both for what Kenny Waste needed and for the kind of business he was looking to join, his combination of commercial and operational experience made him the ideal candidate to drive the business forward on multiple fronts. He met Neil, the fit was clear on both sides, and he came on board as Head of Commercial. Two months in, Graeme is now focused on executing the plan to grow the business from around £15 million to a target of £30 million turnover within five years, and SB Resourcing continues to support Kenny Waste with the senior hires needed to deliver that growth, with interviews already underway.

TESTIMONIAL
“It was a pleasure working with Stephanie Bowers at Heat Recruitment throughout my recruitment journey with Kenny Waste Management.
Steph took the time to truly understand who I am, my experience, and the type of role that would be the right fit for me. Rather than simply matching candidates to vacancies, she carefully considered both my needs and the needs of her client to ensure the best possible fit for everyone involved.
Her communication throughout the process was excellent, keeping both parties fully informed and updated at every stage. Steph was also very hands-on and directly involved throughout the recruitment process, ensuring everything progressed smoothly and professionally.
I would highly recommend Steph to both candidates and employers looking for a recruiter who genuinely cares about achieving the right outcome for everyone involved.”
